TEACH – A Comprehensive Adult Education Program that offers GED preparation, basic literacy tutoring, parenting classes, and computer/word processing skills. TEACH offers classroom instruction as well as one-on-one tutoring by area volunteers. It was developed to create opportunities for employment and true life changes.
TEACH provides a Job Placement Program for residents who have completed their program requirements. This program is designed to assist residents with re-entry into the community by securing gainful employment.
TEACH Program Volunteers
Without the services, support, and dedication of the TEACH Volunteers, the educational component and job placement service would not be possible. A degree is not necessary — only the desire and time. We will help you fit in where you will be most effective. If computers are your interest — we need basic tutors! Sports Enthusiast? How about a current events class on the hot topic of the week? You will be amazed at how much your interest and time means to someone who has been left out!
What should I do if I want to volunteer at TEACH?
Potential volunteers are invited to call and/or visit the TEACH center. All we ask of our tutors is time, patience, and the desire to help people in the community. All questions can be directed to Ida B. Malloy, Vocational and Life Skills Coordinator, email@example.com, (609) 695-1436, Ext. 112.
